Any adult (18 years or older) can participate in the Master Gardener program. No previous experience or training is necessary.
Learn – Successfully complete the “Growing and Caring for Plants in Wisconsin: Foundation in Garden.” This course provides 12+ modules on horticulture topics through videos, readings, activities and live webinars.
Accomplish – Complete an Onboarding Class that explains your role as a volunteer representative of the UW Extension Service and complete the Master Gardener Entrance Exam.
Do – Once you become a Master Gardener Volunteer, you are certified to assist your local community by volunteering at an approved Master Gardener project. Continuing education every year is expected to keep your certification current.
